Summary:
Internships or Co-op positions at GE Aviation in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Program.
Position Description:
Opportunities: Assignments are in business or site level EHS operations. The EHS Operation develops and drives implementation of EHS Programs at all GEAE locations and operations worldwide. Assignments provide the opportunity to work in industry, leading and participating on project teams that may cover any of the following areas; air, water, waste, pollution prevention, chemical management, safety, industrial hygiene, change management, and EHS training programs. All assignments provide the experience of working in a dynamic business environment and the opportunity to interface with many different levels of employees and management. This position is intended to provide an opportunity to develop project leadership skills and assist operations teams in improving current processes and executing world class EHS programs. The successful candidate will perform safety/environmental audits and inspections, participate in the organization and administration of EHS programs, and perform program assessments (Confined Space/Chemical Management/Recordkeeping). Candidate will have the potential to respond to employee concerns, assist in hazardous and regulated waste management, environmental reporting and data management, wastewater permitting and compliance, as well as waste reduction initiatives. Candidate will become familiar with applicable regulations, including OSHA, EPA and local regulations. Candidate will also work with operations personnel and supervision to promote EHS awareness
Basic Qualifications:
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA, unrestricted work authorization, and completed one full year of college.
